What does it take to do successfully do business here?
The Upper South Island can be a demanding market. With largely populated cities, generally close together with good serviceability, there is a large customer base, and a lot of competitors fighting for each one. Preferring local products, and business savvy, it's a touch market to crack.
This doesn't mean that you can't come out on top.
So what does it take to be successful here, and what do these customers look for and expect when doing business?
In my experience, it's all about the relationship! Use your connections, current customers and local networks to get in front of the decision makers, once there, they'll want a good deal, however the customers and your sales will flow.
